Topic: Planting For Pollinators
Speaker: Chris Bremer, Washington County Master Gardener
Pollinators are critical to a healthy environment and many native species are in jeopardy. Pollinators supply one of every three bites of food we eat. Without pollinators our food choices would be less diverse. Learn what you can do to create healthy habitats for native bees and butterflies.
Chris Bremer has been a Master Gardener Volunteer since 2019. Currently Chris is a co-lead for the Milkweed, Monarch and Pollinator program as well as a co-lead for the “Fairest Garden,” a garden consisting of 16 demonstration education gardens located at the Washington County Fairgrounds. Chris is an avid gardener, with five acres of woodlands and prairie. Class participants will benefit from her many years of experience and passion in establishing both shade and sun gardens utilizing native plants, which provide a welcoming environment for many different types of pollinators.
